volunteer work
These are my personal passion projects. If you are looking for ways to impact your community, click here to discover programs across South Carolina you can join to support foster children and foster families!
Princess for a Day
This event was created for young women living in group foster homes. The goal of the day is to help them feel beautiful, cared for, and valuable by doing hair, makeup, manicures, crafts, and even a styled professional photoshoot. Every time, girls that came in withdrawn and shy left beaming with joy.
Guardian Ad Litem / CASA
Volunteer Guardians (GAL) serve as the main advocate for the children in court cases that will determine their futures. Children in foster care with a GAL are 4x more likely to end up in a secure and permanent placement than those without an advocate. It is one of the best ways you can help children and families in crisis in your own community.
Race for the Case 5K
The majority of foster children carry their belongings in trash bags, so we created “Race for the Case” to combat that! As the entry fee, participants had to donate at least one piece of luggage and that day we donated almost a thousand suitcases to children who deserve to feel dignity in their circumstances.
